A question we are often asked: Why is there moss on my conservatory roof & patio?
Moss on the roof is a sign that there may be a build-up of moss in your gutters.
As rain and snow dislodges moss from your roof tiles, it finds its way into your rain gutters. Some of this will wash away but moss swells up when moist and can cause blockages.
Those most at risk are properties where there are corners in the guttering, homes where the guttering is not using half-round profile, and those with moss build up on the roof tiles.
Birds love picking though the moss, it’s a rich source of insects and nest material. As they work through it, they will flick bits down onto your conservatory roof and patio.
Take action now, before things start to grow.
